This is useful if you want to add additional symbols to this library or make your own 2D library. The library also contains a Windows command file, makeProps.cmd, that will generate a PluginFurnitureCatalog.properties file that references all of the PNG files in the current directory, which are assumed to be 2D symbols with an image size of 256x256 pixels. (Unzip it from ElectricSymbolsUS.sh3f, edit the file, zip it back into the library, and import it into Sweet Home 3D.) You can change these dimensions in the width and depth properties in PluginFurnitureCatalog.properties in the library if desired. Sweet Home 3D is a free interior design Java application that helps you draw the plan of your house, arrange furniture on it and visit the results in 3D. In plan view, they are arbitrarily assigned a size of 25cm x 25cm (about 10 inches square), which seems to be a good proportion to the size of walls, etc.

These symbols were drawn using GIMP as 256x256 pixel images, which were used for both the catalog icons and the plan icons. Next, make a scale model within the program’s work space, which typically looks like a grid of squares representing feet or meters. After importing the library, these symbols will appear in the "Electrical symbols US" category in the Furniture Catalog view. I created the attached furniture library, ElectricSymbolsUS.sh3f, containing the 2D symbols used in the U.S.
